The 8th NIPE Summer School will take place from the 28th of June to the 1st of July at the University of Minho, Escola de Economia e Gestão, Braga, Portugal.

 

On the 28th, at 14h, Professor Kiefer will present an opening seminar.

 

 

The Course begins on Wednesday, 29th, at 8h30 for registration.

The lectures will take place from Wednesday, 29th, to Friday, 1st, from 9h30 to 16h, with a 30 minutes coffee-break at 11h and a 60 min lunch at 13th.

 

The purpose of the course is to provide graduate students and applied researchers with a comprehensive coverage of statistical methods and their application in the econometric analysis of duration analysis. These methods include the review of problems leading to natural models based on censored distributions of durations, the counting process formulation, the competing risk models and Bayesian methods for duration analysis. The statistical package R http://cran.r-project.org/ (free download) will be used in lectures.
